Дело в том, что алкалоид пиридинового ряда воздействует на дополнительные зоны головного мозга, которые отвечают за образование у человека никотиновой и наркотической зависимости. В частности, экспертам удалось доказать, что никотиновый ацетихолиновый рецептор, который активируется никотином и обеспечивает передачу импульса, тоже связан с нейронами гипоталамуса.
Иначе говоря, никотин влияет на рецепторы дофаминовых и ГАМК-нейронов. Это может вызвать своеобразное состояние эйфории, после чего образуется привыкание и зависимость.
Ранее предполагалось, что за процесс зависимости ответственны меньшее количество областей. Учёные говорят, что привычка курить формируется из-за сбоя в передаче сигналов дофамина, однако при восстановлении связей можно избавиться от зависимости.
Учёные предполагают, что данное открытие ляжет в основу новых методов борьбы с курением и наркоманией.
А ранее экспертам удалось выяснить, что у курящих мужчин мозг работает не так эффективно.
